What is the CTC? |
|
|
Carolina Technology Consultants (CTC) was established more than 10 years ago by staff members in Academic Technology and Networking (ATN), now a part of ITS.
The mission of the CTC is to provide resources to help IT professionals at UNC-Chapel Hill in their daily work and professional development through better communication and collaboration. To affect these goals, the CTC provides regular Updates on problems facing IT professionals on campus, a forum for asking and solving common issues, and an annual Retreat for IT staff across campus.
Carolina Technology Consultants (CTC) is a cooperative organization of Information Technology professionals at UNC-Chapel Hill. We are a grassroots organization powered by IT professionals at Carolina.
We need your help. Join the CTC today!

The CTC is led by the advisory board. The board varies in size from 15-20 members. The goal is to have as many campus groups as possible represented, from the large organizations, as well as the units who have only one or two IT staff members. The board also includes a liasion from the Information Technology Executive Council. Board members serve 2 year terms. The advisory board meets every other week and helps the facilitator keep up with current issues on campus and plan sessions to further the conversation. If you'd like to submit a question to the board or suggest a topic for an Update, please send email to

The link for the Carolina Counts Wiki is here:https://gpsf-wiki.unc.edu/confluence/display/ctc/
You can now vote on the Carolina Counts IT initiatives. The Carolina Counts Information Technology team has gathered a set of proposals from ITEC, the CTC, ITS and the community at large, each with the aim of saving money and improving efficiency for IT services on campus in response to the Bain report.
VOTE HERE: https://gpsf-wiki.unc.edu/confluence/display/ctc/Proposals by selecting proposals and rating them.
Voting is open NOW on all of these proposals. This is your opportunity to make your preferences known, and your input WILL inform the work of the overall effort. Please keep the following factors in mind:
1. Please forward this email to your respective departmental lists and encourage everyone interested to vote.
2. You must log in with your ONYEN to vote. We don't plan to track individual votes, but we want to keep the evaluations within the UNC community.
3. You do not need to vote on every proposal. You can vote on only those that interest you.
4. Please do leave comments. They are very helpful.
5. Voting indicates your composite impression of a proposal's overall likelihood to save money, be well received on campus, and be of benefit.
6. Voting will end at close of business on Tuesday, January 19. We'll examine the results at a Carolina Counts planning retreat the following day.
Background information on this effort can be found on the CTC Carolina Counts wiki at: https://gpsf-wiki.unc.edu/confluence/display/ctc/ |
